Nice to meet you!

I’m Laurie, a versatile Multimedia Designer based in Oxfordshire, working across Graphic Design, Web Design, UI/UX, Presentations, 2D/3D media and more.

I’ve had a varied career with over a decade of experience in corporate and marketing environments, including 9 years leading a graphic design function in a conferences company.

I also have a long history of freelance work, informally while still in education, and professionally since 2013. I have produced work for a range of clients big and small, from family-run start-up businesses to worldwide names such as the University of Oxford and Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

Digging deeper…

When you work with a creative, you’re bringing an unknown party into your world, and trusting them with your vision, so I wanted to share a bit more about my background.

Graphic design runs in the family: my parents ran MACAW Media, a specialist slide bureau for Mac users, which grew to a design agency specialising in video and presentations. My siblings and I were involved from a young age.

I’m father to an incredible, fiery four-year old. I’ve worked for many different clients over my career, but she’s by far the most demanding: Nobody changes the brief like a pre-schooler!

Before landing on a career in design, I studied French, Japanese, and German at university, and before that studied Music to A-Level, and Grade 8 Piano and Percussion.

I’ve been a hobbyist game developer from primary school age, creating MYST-inspired point-and-click scenes with Bryce 4 + Powerpoint (invisible action buttons!), then on to The Games Factory, Dark BASIC Pro as a teen, and Unity as an adult.
